Track Listing:
Firelight

I've been gone, been out of reach
from a world full of grief
I drowned in the tears,
the laughter, the fear
I tripped and fell over my own lines

I have learned to swallow my pride
and keep it hidden under firelight
As I watched you walk away
from your hiding place
I saw the many tears
that soaked your face

Firelight, consume my soul
Melt my flesh, purify my heart

As we watched our lives
go up in smoke
our tears began
to swallow us whole / Chorus
Floating Feather

The clock ticks off the hours
the river flows fast
The moon dances
in a rainbow shower
as I wonder how long
the night will last
The clouds catch fire
and the wind sings to me
the sweetest lullaby like the sea

I'm a floating feather on the wind
only looking back
to where I have been
I'm a floating feather on the stream
drifting unruffled to the sea

Pearls dot a pitch black robe
the scent of pine haunts me
the storm cracks in a lightning strobe
as the rain washes over me
The snowflakes waltz
in the moonlight
My wings unfold and meet the sky / Chorus

I am a floating feather on the wind
I cross the sandy shore
Over mountains and
through the caves
there's nowhere I can't explore
I am a floating feather on the stream
I race with the morning dew
Over rapids and whirlpools
flowing ever closer to you / Chorus
Rising Sun

Time goes by so slow
and I wonder why I don't know
why you look at me that way
in the rising sun everyday
and I see so much of me
when I hear your voice,
when you start to sing

I see your silhouette
in the rising sun
feel you everywhere
when the twilight comes
wanna be with you,
you've got the kind of love
I need in my life

It's the little things that you say
and the subtle way that you play
with every part of my brain
that turns me on and feeds the flame
and I see so much of me in you
when I hear your voice,
when you start to sing / Chorus

I can't overcome the longing,
the aching, the wanting,
the waiting / Chorus
Annihilation

Earth turns to ash,
water boils dry
fire and acid
fall from the sky
The world's gone crazy
and everywhere you turn
shadows surround you
screaming burn
Then out of nowhere
the wind blows you down
it hits you so hard
that you fall to the ground
You cry out for help
then scream it out loud
but no one can hear,
no one's even around

If you can move mountains
and sink the sun
if you can calm the ocean,
build a dream out of dirt and dust
if you can roll back the clouds
on an incoming breeze
if you can bring me to my knees,
save me please

Somewhere outside
this desolate planet
there's a paradise
if I could only reach it
My mind's been fogged
by this annihilation
and now I realize
this war was our creation
It started years ago,
but we didn't know
where we were going
So now we're here
face to face with death
and all we can hope for
is one last breath / Chorus
Creator

God made the ocean,
He made the sea
He made the mountains ring
He wrote the words
and gave them to me
He wrote the songs that I sing
When I die
will you make me
one of Your angels
and give me wings?
And will I get to see
all of Heaven's glory?

No matter what we go through,
we always reach out to You
You're the inspiration, the motivation,
the reason why we live
Creator, brightest star in the sky
Creator, now I ask Thee why do I cry
when I see the moon
or feel the breeze
or smell the rain?

Heavenly rainbow
sparkling through the rain
glistening like fairy dust
in my dreams
If you could speak
what would you say?
Nothing's quite the way it seems
Romeo, oh Romeo,
where for art thou?
I should be holding you in my arms
So where are you now?
Lord, send my love to me / Chorus
Looking For You

I've been searching for a way
I've been praying every day
that by some miracle I might find you
You've been searching for me
and you're wondering where I am
Across the open space,
under the moon's bright face
there's just one thing
I've been looking for

I've been looking for you
trying to find where you are
I've been looking for you
trying to find a way to your heart

I feel your pain, your joy and sorrow
I know someday, maybe tomorrow
we'll be together, always, forever
Across the open space,
under the moon's bright face / Chorus
Josh

New student in the class today
but I didn't see your face
Then I found out you passed away
is he the one to take your place?
It was my surprise
I guess I didn't realize
how much I cared
and now you've disappeared

No one can ever take your place
they can't compete with the impression you made
in our hearts
it's so sad that we had to part

It came as a shock to me
somehow I just couldn't see
the name of a friend
put to the end
I hope you're resting in peace now
I hope you can hear
these words ringing clear
way up there in
that place we call Heaven / Chorus

But you're always in our hearts
we'll never truly part
'cuz you're always in our hearts
Josh
Welcome To Our World

The love we've shared here tonight
will live forever
Goodbyes come with the wind
I know it's hard to let us go
but believe us when we say
your love lights the way for us today
What can we say to you
but thanks for everything
Goodbye is not farewell
I know it's so hard to let us go
but the smile upon your face
tells us that we've earned our place

Welcome to our world of hope and love
Now it's our turn to stand hand in hand
against the darkness of hate
and make the world a better place to be
Welcome to our world

As we look back upon our memories they open up our eyes
and together we stand
here hand in hand
like a wall that refuses to crumble / Chorus
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral
Can't Help Falling In Love

The Roots: As my songwriting and guitar skills grew, this song started emerging in the chords while I was trying to play other songs by ear. It was a good shot for my first "rock" song. The Roots: I would always pass Floating Feather Road on the way to Boise. My late Aunt Shari loved and found peace in this song... It will forever be dedicated to her. The Roots: Every songwriter has a song that "says it all." This is mine. The Roots: I wrote this song about Armageddon. Shortly after the release of "Firelight" 9/11 occurred. The Roots: I had help writing this song. Tina not only contributed lyrics, but it is her voice that accompanies me in this beautiful duet. The Roots: My Mother had "Cannon In D" by Pachelbel playing when I was born. This song is based on "Cannon" only in a different key and time. The melody is quite different as well. The Roots: A classmate and friend of mine died too young. I couldn't cry for him even though I wanted to. This song was the result. He will be deeply missed. The Roots: I wrote this song for my graduating high school class. Two classmates, Mary and Rachel, heard it and agreed to record it with me. The Roots: My Father loves Bing Crosby. He often sang this song to me on long road trips. So I chose to record my own rendition of this song for old time's sake. The Roots: Everyone told me I should record an Elvis cover. So I did and this is my favorite. I had help once again from Mary, Rachel, and Tina on this one. The Roots: In 2002, I met an extremely talented musician, Chris McDowell. We set out to re-record a couple of songs and master some new ones. This was one of them. The Roots: In 2002, I met an extremely talented musician, Chris McDowell.
